What is the current immigration process like?
Previously, entry from abroad was severely restricted, but now border control measures have been eased and it is very accessible to enter Japan from the U.S.
There is no PCR test on arrival in Japan and no quarantine period any more.
≪If you have already been vaccinated three times≫
You do not need to take a PCR test before leaving the country. A valid vaccination certificate can be submitted at the airport when checking in.
≪If you have not been vaccinated≫
You need to submit a negative certificate from a PCR test taken at least 72 hours prior to departure time. As long as you have these documents, the process can go very smoothly.
