Learn with us : Sayu / The Best Morning Routine

We would like to introduce you to a very healthy and well-known Japanese custom called "白湯-Sayu-".

What is Sayu?

Sayu is water that has been boiled once. It is water that has been boiled without adding anything other than water.

What is the difference between Sayu and hot water?

The difference between Sayu and hot water is whether the water is boiled or not. Sayu is water that has been boiled and then cooled, while hot water is water that has been heated to 40°C or higher. This may seem like a minor difference, but this "Sayu" is not just hot water, and it provides many benefits to you♡

How to Make Sayu

Tap water contains various substances. In order to remove these substances, tap water must be kept boiling for 10 to 15 minutes. Boiling also has the effect of removing odors and mellowing the taste. If the water is pure mineral water, there is no need to boil it. By adjusting the water to the proper temperature and drinking it, the same effects as sayu can be expected.

The most effective way to drink

Drink one cup (about 200 cc) in the morning before you begin your activities. In the morning, the internal organs, like the body, are still in a sleepy state. Drinking Sayu, which is close to body temperature, gently awakens the internal organs. The temperature of the water should be about 50°C (50°F), which feels warm to the touch but does not burn you. It is recommended to cool it down with your breath before drinking. At night, about an hour before going to bed, boil a cup of white water and drink it to help you relax and fall asleep. However, if drinking before bed at night makes you feel close to the toilet, or if this interferes with your sleep, we recommend moving the drink to an earlier time of day or drinking it only in the morning.

The following 5 benefits can be expected

Aids digestion

It gently awakens the internal organs in the morning and serves to switch on the workings of the gastrointestinal tract. Even in the morning when you have no appetite, Sayu will get your stomach and intestines moving, making it easier to eat breakfast.

Relieves constipation

When the internal organs are awakened by a cup of sayu in the morning, the intestines also become active. This improves the condition of the stomach and constipation.

Increases basal metabolism

When the internal organs are warmed by sayu, the body becomes warmer from the core. If you continue to drink it, you can expect to improve your cold constitution.

Detoxification effect

When the body is warmed, the flow of lymph and blood improves, and waste matter and excess water accumulated in the body are excreted. This leads to a detoxification effect, as the blood becomes more fluid and swelling improves.

Skin beautifying effect

Metabolism is increased and the body's circulation becomes smoother. As a result, the skin becomes clearer, more radiant, and more beautiful.

And here is a particularly recommended way to drink it!
